WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

A wise woman once said: excellent people discuss ideas, mediocore people discuss events, inferior people discuss other people. This blog will be devoted mostly to ideas that I teach and write about. Ocassionally I will throw in some travel, recipes, movie reviews or other quirky indulgences. Since the state of our world and efforts to mend it are never far from my consciousness, you will also find some "current events" features under "tikkun olam." Please feel free to add your comments. Chasing Away the February Doldrums

Well...It's a gray day in February. The kind of day that, if you are female and grew up in a certain time and place, your thoughts turn to buying a new item of clothing or changing your hair color.(Yes, you can take the girl out of Long Island, but...) Today, however, I had a revelation! Now that I am a blogger, all I have to do in times like this is change the colors on my blog! It's a whole new look! Price: Free. Time Spent : 4 minutes. Gasoline costs: None.
Am I the only person who does this? And what do you think of the new look?

Flowers help, too, but they feel a little phony to me. I mean, tulips in February? Who are we kidding?

I don't see it that way at all. Somewhere on the planet, tulips are blooming in February. And, heh, isn't this the age of globalization?
